Lemon juice whitens skin?

ive got dark spots [discolorations] from acne, mostly from popping pimples. would lemon juice help to get rid of them?

I'm not sure about lemon juice, but I've heard many times that milk is a natural skin whitener.

Reply:yup..they will.i used to have alot of pimple..then i used proactiv,that did help take the pimples away,but then the scars were still there.i sprinkled lemon juice on it every night before bed..and those spots vanished in about 10-12 days,so it really helps..and its all natural..no chemicals.its great:)

Reply:The lemon is a natural citrus exfoliant but highly acidic. It could work but also may cause further problems, it all depends on what else you are already using on your skin. The high level of acid takes your skin away from it's natural state of acidity, which in turn can make your skin more suceptable to other problems. In theory it could work but wearing an spf moisturizer would help them keep from getting any darker.
Reply:Maybe try 100% cocoa butter or pure vitamin E on them. Both of these are excellent skin healing agents. Also time will heal, so just be consistent in your appling.
