Mmmm. okay. so. .. apparently one day i just go swimming and the area around my mouth start peeling off, and my lips becomes chapped. Theen i constantly hadd to use chapstick from doing so. i switched to a stronger chapstick and the area around my mouth started turning lighter, discoloration of my skin around my lips. NOW recently, it just turned DARK RED.on the top of my lips.
WHAT IN THE HECK DO I HAVE?=[

Try a search for the term "angular cheilitis" to see if you find pictures and other info to match your problem, as well as tips on treating it. And, yes, if it is angular cheilitis, lip licking can have a lot to do with it.

Reply:Do you live in the South or the West Coast where it's constantly hot? It could be from the sun so that could have something to do with the chapping. Also, it could be a cold sore that is forming. I'm sure if you use Abreva, it will just go away. Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. And, if you are that afraid or worried about it, go to a doctor and they'll tell you. Hope this helps.
