Discoloration on face?

I have a small patch of skin that is off color on my lower right jaw. It is not bumpy or no texture difference just slightly off tone, lighter than the rest of my skin. Anyone have any clue what it could be?

Discoloration on face?
I had a similar patch on my back when I was in my late teens.

I went to the doctor. He gave me an anti-fungal lotion. He told me if the patch was still pale after using the whole bottle that I did not a fungus but rather a genetic condition with a long name I do not recall. Anyway this condition causes the skins pigmentation to migrate. ( My sister later developed a similar condition... so it does run in families)

He recommended that I stay out of the sun; or wear hats... this was before sunscreens were readily available.

I took his advice and quit sunbathing. I cannot find the place on my back.

During a summer pregnancy I developed a spot on my forehead and jaw. If I am extremely careful with hats and sunscreen and umbrellas, I can keep my skin almost even.

See your doctor.
Reply:May be some fungus ir baterial infection??
Reply:If you have been tanning or out in the sun it could just be a blotchy patch of skin. As long as it doesn't change, itch, or grow that's what it probably is. Is it lighter or darker than the rest of your skin?

Discoloration?

I just used Skin Success EvenTone Fade cream to tone/lighten up my skin and what not, and I only used it just for two days and it started to lighten up that it got lighter then my skin color. I mean you cant really see it but when you look in the mirror closely you can. I really want it to go away ! So will my skin color be my regular skin color within two weeks?

Please help! thanks

you should use neutrogena visibly clear/even cleanser and moisterizure. It works really well. Wal Mart has it

Does anyone have melasma?

it is a dark skin discoloration

Does anyone have melasma?
Melasma is a tan discoloration of a woman's face that is associated with pregnancy or with the use of oral contraceptives, so it can happen with pregnancy and oral contaceptives. It is caused by an increase in the production of melanin, the substance in the body that is responsible for color (pigment).

Certain prescription creams (such as hydroquinone) and some over-the-counter skin care products may be used to treat melasma. If you have melasma, try to limit your exposure to sunlight, and use a strong sunscreen when outside.
Reply:Does that happen with birth control or pregnancy?

I don't want to be on birth control, but it seems like going off of it isn't an option :(?

No matter what brand of bcp I take, Ortho-cyclens, Yasmin, Nordette, Lo-Ovral and Lo-Estrin (yes, I think I have tried them all), I get awful side effects. Either I get skin discoloration on my face, or acne, or facial hair, or nausea... I hate it. Same with the depo provera shot. But then, if I go off of the pill, I get horrendous cramps and bloating and all that drama. I feel like I will have to be on the pill forever, and look like a circus freak all my life :( Is there any other solution, or am I doomed either way?

I don't want to be on birth control, but it seems like going off of it isn't an option :(?
Talk with your Dr about getting an IUD. I have the Mirena and I no longer have heavy painful periods. Granted they are not for everyone.
Reply:have you heard the words snip snip? they can reverse this if at a latter time you want to become pregnant
Reply:give priority for what u really need...pill is not always a solution for ur problem...u may try IUCD,natural method.
Reply:damm, girl - ur a fool! Why would you ever compromise your health, and the way you look and feel for that sort of security! Especially when they have condoms available everywhere and planned parenthood clinics where you can use timing method of having natural sex without the consequesnce of pregnancy.

Quit taking that damm pill! Not every persons body is the same and its obvious your body is acting out bigtime and telling you stop taking this ****!!! Listen to your body!
Reply:If birth control methods have given you such reactions, I would try to manage the pain of your periods, and skip the bcp's. The cramps and bloating can be managed by your MD, and you won't experience those side effects that the pill, depo, can sometimes lead to.

You'll need to use a barrier method of birth control, if you are sexually active and do not desire a pregnancy.
Reply:I can't remember what its called, but it's reffered to as the ring, have you tried that? I've heard it works well.

How can I clear up mosquito/bug bites on my legs, quickly without scars or signs of them ever being there?

I have numerous mosquisto/bug bites on my legs, and I am in need of a cure. Is there any type of cream that I can use to clear up these bites quickly and effectively without leaving scars or skin discoloration?

How can I clear up mosquito/bug bites on my legs, quickly without scars or signs of them ever being there?
Take an antihistamine like Benadryl syrup and a weak topical steroid cream like Hydrocortisone cream .

The lesions are caused by a type of allergic reaction to the mosquito bites , and a steroid and an antihistamine are STANDARD treatments for most allergies .
Reply:Use hydrocortisone for the itching and whatever you do...don't scratch
Reply:For me, witch hazel works great on bug bites.
Reply:Pure essential lavander oil straight on bites takes out the sting and stops scarring.
Reply:I always use plain old rubbing alcohol on all bites I get, especially right when I get them. It stops the itch and goes away. Good luck to you.
Reply:yes....it's called don't scratch at them, so they won't become infected by staph (impetigo) and IF you already have that, go to the MD and they will give you some cream or ointment to put on them to heal them. You know they make stuff to put on your skin to prevent the mosquitoes from biting you in the first place. It's inexpensive and worth keeping in the medicine cabinet. It's called Skintastic. There are others, but I've used it and it smells good and works.

Perfume???

What are the best places to apply perfume? And how much of it should I use? It's for school. I also heard that when you put perfume on, it causes skin discoloration when the spot you sprayed it on is revealed to the sun? Is that true? Please help! Thanks

Perfume???
It is best to put perfume on your pulse points; your wrists, your eyebrows, just below your ear lobes, behind your knees, at your ankles, and between your breasts.

I'm unsure about the skin discoloration: I guess that could depend upon the ingredients. I have heard that perfume can discolor fabric, so you may want to make sure that it dries on you before getting dressed.

Also...be careful about using too much. Less is more!

Enjoy!

P.S. some of my daughter's teachers forbid perfume in the classroom. Please be mindful that a handful of people are allergic to perfume or that there could be rules about its use at your school.
Reply:On your wrists and neck but idk about the discoloration thing.
Reply:Go to Ulta. J Lo has great perfume. Only use one spray and no it will not discolor your skin. Some people are allergic though. I usually spray it then walk through it. That way I don't get too much and its not directly on my skin.
Reply:Use very little because a lady does not reek of perfume. Apply on the wrists and inside of the elbows and behind your ears. Perfume doesn't discolor skin.
Reply:on the boooooooobs
Reply:If you have a good quality perfume from a reliable company and store, then you shouldn't have any skin discoloration, but if you do you might want to discontinue use. For school, I suggest applying one spray on each wrist (don't rub your wrists together, let them airdry because rubbing them together causes a slight change in the scent). You might also want to put a dab behind each ear, one spritz on your neck, or spray it in the air once or twice and walk through it. If you want a more subtle effect, spray it in your hair. Have fun with it and remember- less is more!
Reply:um dont use too much bcuz others should only smell your perfume when they r 1/2 a foot away from you. and i think u shuld put perfume on some of the top strands of your hair and lightly on some of your clothes and some on your neck

Which store brand self-tanning work INSTANTLY??

im african american and i have a skin discoloration and i wanna even out

Which store brand self-tanning work INSTANTLY??
Neutrogina (?sp) has one kind that's a foam, it's got color in it so you can see it right away... but it also gets a little darker after a couple hours like the normal kind do. It works great and doesn't rub off either. I usually put it on before bed and then when I wake up I'm tan!
Reply:Be VERY careful filling in. There is a product out there made by HEMP that is an aerosole can self tanner and comes with a spongey brush which is what I've always recommended to my clients who need to fill things in. Call around places like Trade Secret and see if they carry it. I'd have someone help you, be careful...remember the concept that you cannot dye on top of dye so if you fill in where you're already darker you will just be even darker in the spot. Good luck!
Reply:use an oil of olay even complexion essence cream.Or you can use Mary kay Timewise even complexion essence. You can't find that in stores but I know that it works. The self tanning lotion is not going to give you an even color.

Has anyone used Betnovate product before?

I'm not trying to bleach myself but I have acne scarring and skin discoloration from the sun. ANyway someone recommended Betnovate to me and I was wondering if anyone has ever used and what the results were for you. Please give me serious answers....

Has anyone used Betnovate product before?
Using betnovate will thin the skin. It's intended for problems such as eczema. From my experience with using it I would say it's not suitable for your purposes.

What is tinea vesicolor. My doctor recommended Selsun 2.5 shampoo for 10 days.?

I'd like to know if tinea vesicolor is a sexually transmitted disease and if antibiotics should best treate it. I have used the treated prescribed by my doctor and have not seen any major difference. I am beginning to wonder if this itchy , almost scally and sometimes painful skin discoloration across and under my breast area is actually diagnosed correctly!

What is tinea vesicolor. My doctor recommended Selsun 2.5 shampoo for 10 days.?
Tinea versicolor is skin infection with Malassezia furfur that manifests as multiple asymptomatic scaly patches varying in color from white to brown. Diagnosis is based on clinical appearance and skin scrapings. Treatment is topical antifungal drugs.

Treatment consists of anti-fungal medicines applied to the skin. These medications include clotrimazole, ketoconazole, and miconazole.

Over-the-counter dandruff shampoos applied to the skin for 10 minutes each day in the shower may also help treat the lesions.

Though tinea versicolor is easily treated, pigment changes may last for months after treatment. The condition may come back during the warm months.

Tinea versicolor is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is a fungal skin infection. Antibiotics have no effect on fungal infections. Moisture (perspiration), body heat, dirt and darkness may help to grow fungus infection. Please continue to apply anti-fungal ointment a few days more even after the fungus infection is cleared.

Please see the web pages for more details on Tinea versicolor.
Reply:Too much yeast on the surface of the skin....antibiotics can increase yeast, but maybe if the shampoo doesn't work, an antifungal will? And no, it's not an STD.

HELP ME OUT AND GET SOME POINTs?

Can I apply Aloe vera after my proactiv to help with brown spots. Also, can I use my skin discoloration fade cream (Ambi), to help with brown spots. What should be my daily routine to stop acne, and fade brown spots. I dont have alot of brown spots, but I really want to get rid of them FAST and CHEAP.

HELP ME OUT AND GET SOME POINTs?
If it's fast and cheap, IT WON"T BE EFFECTIVE. If it's effective and cheap, IT WON"T BE FAST. If it's fast and effective, IT WON"T BE CHEAP. You dig? Just stick to the proactive line and do it right. Toss all your face, acne, %26amp; fade stuff and get their line of products and use them as directed. It may cost a little ( a first) but you'll save by just using them and the bathroom probably won't be cluttered. It takes time to work but if used right, it works at a pretty good pace! With acne, scars, brown spots, and all. SERIOUSLY!
Reply:One thing at a time.
Reply:Go to a dermatologist
Reply:hey slow down, the proactiv itself does the whole job.
Reply:No, I dont think aloe vera would be good. Use an oil free moisturizer
Reply:I believe on the Aloe Vera like creasy i used on my kids, when there baby, and untill we used every day , on the hair. i never used on my skin, but it natural have to be good
Reply:I bought some Vitamin K lotion at a Longs Drug Store for $11.99. I was amazed at how much it faded my brown spots. I had tried skin bleach and Retin A that were prescribed by my doctor but they burned my skin. The vitamin K lotion worked better than anything and didn't dry my skin. It moistened it.
Reply:Be careful with Proactiv... A good friend of mine used to use it and she said after time she noticed the collars of her shirts and her towels changing color... The peroxde in the Proactive was bleaching her clothes!

Mustache? Sally Hansen?

okay so there's this thing, Sally Hansen hair remover and all i wanna kno is does it leave skin discoloration swelling and all that jazz.

Mustache? Sally Hansen?
IT CAN. it just depends on your skin type, and the type of wax you use. I tried it once, and it was red for like..a day. And then I used it again in about 5 weeks, and nothing happened. I guess my skin was just getting use to it. OH WELL! give it a try, and see what happens. Make sure you put a nice light moisturizer on, and rinse after you wax to open and clean the pores. =D
Reply:it shouldnt if you dont leave it on long, just make sure that you follow the directions and only leave it on for the alotted time. If it says to leave on for 8 min, then i would go w/ lyk 6 min, if its not gone then use some more. Good luck and hope it goes away!

Luv Much Brookelynn
Reply:In my experience, it may be a little red at first, but it doesn't last long at all (i brushed my teeth and was ready to put on makeup). It wasn't anywhere near as bad as some of the others.
Reply:It all depends how strong your moustache growth is and how sensitive your skin is, but it's good to remember that what is strong enough to destroy hair is strong enough to damage skin.

If there's not too much moustache there, do you really need to do anything? Most guys are OK about women with a slight moustache.

If you do decide you have to do something, then be careful, because there's a lot of misleading information about.

Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of

1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many

2) your body producing high levels of testosterone

The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.

Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.

As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that

* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

In the era of modern science, why do some people still buy into the resurection fairy tale?

1--Brain dies after 15 minutes of oxygen deprivation

2--rigor mortis sets in after 24 hours of death....jesus must have been feeling a bit stiff

3--skin discoloration occurs after the first day

medical knowledge proves that the resurection is a fairy tale

In the era of modern science, why do some people still buy into the resurection fairy tale?
never ending story is sound familiar to you

BUT WE DON'T THINK, we praise the lord.

the knowledge persecute me, but I´am going more fast
Reply:Medical knowledge proves that it has never happened since. You cannot prove to me that the resurrection never happened. It is a miracle that defies science and logic.
Reply:The Roman inquest into the matters surrounding the death of Jesus is still in the Vatican archives.

The Romans certainly did not consider it a 'fairy tale'. And THEY were THERE.
Reply:You have obviously fallen for the science that academia allows you to accept as science. The same academia that fires all teachers for encouraging students to examine the truth claims of naturalism. This is not true to the spirit of scientific objectivity but Marxism camoflaged in robes of Academia.

You have not presented the facts which back up your claim of how medical science proves the impossibility of resurection.

Medical science cannot make claims regarding areas to which it has no credibility. Show me your medical doctors certificate of training in spiritual matters. Thats like going to a dentist to get your muffler replaced.
Reply:We go back to the brainwashing hypothesis. Church, temple all mosques services are all a form of mass hypnosis. Praying reinforces it with self hypnosis. I keep hearing Christians say if you pray hard enough you will see, maybe they do, but it is a product of their imagination and self fulfilling wish.

Almost all people are hypnotically suggestible to varying degrees, I suggest atheists are likely to be the least hypnotically suggestible and religious zealots the most.

I wonder if anybody has done any research on this? It seems a plausible explanation as to why so many people can believe in the impossible/improbable that all religions claim.
Reply:emotional immaturity,......... and a refusal to grow up and face reality......
Reply:And, also medical knowledge proves some people to be idiots and some not. Want to be classified?
Reply:What does modern science have to do with love, faith, and hope. Just because science (humans) can't explain everything doesn't mean things don't exist and operate beyond our total understanding. It's obvious from your past questions that you spend a good amount of your time thinking of new ways to bash people of faith. From my interpretation of scientific evidence it's absurd to believe in the evolution myth and your materialist worldview is troubling in that it has been the faith of the greatest mass murderers in history (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot........). Yet I don't get on YA and spew insults and hate towards evolutionist and materialist. If you want to debate cool, but I would challenge you to consider why you continually resort to petty digs. By the way, whether you believe it or not, Christ died as rose again for you personally because he loves you. Even I find that hard to believe but its true.

What can I buy over the counter that will fade a burn mark from my daughters leg?

My 3 yr old recently dropped very hot corn on her leg which has left a pretty bad skin discoloration and I need something that will take it away.

What can I buy over the counter that will fade a burn mark from my daughters leg?
If there is any blistering, or skin breakage take her to see a doctor. First aid is not enough for a severe burn.

Keep the area clean and covered with a dressing. No, exposure to the sun.

When you are sure there is no infection and it is healed:

Try opening a vitamin E capsule and dabbing the oil inside the capsule gently on the discoloration. Repeat this daily for a week or two. Allow no exposure to the sun that can make the scarring worse.
Reply:band aid.
Reply:Mederma.

Available over the counter.

However with a child that young, I'd suggest calling the peditrician and asking if it is ok to use such products.

Is this symptoms a cause of hyponatremia?

Please please please correct me if I'm wrong... Tell me what illness causes these.

-cold clammy extremities and muscular weakness

-lowered blood pressure

-weak and rapid pulse

-skin discoloration

-Urine analysis showed the urine density was 1.009 g/ml and a significant lowering in the plasma sodium level in the blood.

Is this symptoms a cause of hyponatremia?
generally symptomatic hyponatremia is associated with a rapid decrease in plasma sodium to %26lt;125 mmol/L. Symptoms become increasingly severe as the levels drop further. Usually the symptoms include headache, vomiting, swollen hands and feet, fatigue and wheezy breathing. So it is possible but based on the info given I can't say for sure

Can acne scarring get better with time, by itself?

I have some pitted scars from acne when I was younger. Like normal scars, can acne scars get better with time, just by it self?

Also, has anyone gotten chemical peels or laser resurfacing to help with scarring? Did the procedure give you skin discoloration and other scarring?

Can acne scarring get better with time, by itself?
They will be less noticeable with time - to speed the process, use maderma - its like $15 for a tube, and if it's just one or two marks, it is probably the best thing to use.

If you have bad scarring covering large areas of your face, microderm abrasion is really good to aid in scars and is less expensive than chemical peels.

Chemical peels are really effective - I had one and didn't like it because of the healing time, but it made my face glow when it did heal. You may need more than one if your scars are bad. If you do a chemical peel, you have to stay out of the sun for a few months or your skin will be discolored and possibly worse than your skin is now. Plus, it's summertime, so it's tough to stay out of the sun completely.
Reply:yes it can. I have a little mark on my face. it takes about 1 year for a lot of it to go away. just dont pick at it
Reply:yes. and if you want it to go away faster, try Mederma (sorry idk if it's spelled correctly, but it sounds like that). when i accidentally burned my fore head with my straightener (i know, careless..lol) i had a scar, but using Mederma, it went away within a few weeks! good luck

Is there any way short of electrolysis of permanently getting rid of hair?

I have this one annoying hair that keeps growing back on my chin. I'm sick of tweezing it out, and I'm getting skin discoloration on that spot.

Is there any way short of electrolysis of permanently getting rid of hair?
I have electrolysis and it isnt that bad. If I can stand it anyone can. My technician says I am the most sensitive person she has ever worked with. It isn't any worse than tweezing or waxing and it is permanent once you are done.
Reply:For one hair, electrolysis is the best option. There are laser treatments, but that's for patches. To target just one hair--electrolysis.
Reply:I know its only one hair, but electrolosis does not work! Go get laser removal for ur face. Its not that expensive-that hair will be gone.- trust me
Reply:Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Can women use razor for chin?
NOO

U WANT SPIKES LIKE MEN ???/
Reply:Definitely! Unfortunate chin hair is very common in women and you have a few options:

waxing

plucking

using a razor

using those shaver things that guys use (he he)

GOOD LUCK!!!!

%26lt;3
Reply:I shave my face every single day just as a man would. It's perfectly safe, but as for skin discoloration it would depend on the razor you pick - I recommend you getting a gentle one at first, then use moisturizer to keep your complexion even.
Reply:I would never use a razor on my chin. Pluck those those pesky little hairs with a tweezer and be done with it at least for a week.
Reply:You can, but it will be your biggest mistake. Don't try it. If you don't have time to wax then use facial hair removal cream. The longest it takes it like 5min max. Work it into your regime for example, when u get out the shower put it on. Do whatever you do next and when 3-5min pass, then just wipe it off with a damp cloth. It works great and it won't grow back thicker like with shaving. Try it!
Reply:I have an Italian friend who shaves her facial hair frequently. However, she swears that shaving causes the hair to grow back a bit more coarsely. In combination with waxing is probably best. Or opt to get laser treatment for permanent removal.
Reply:YES! In fact, I saw a dermatologist on tv advise women to shave their faces. It will actually keep your skin looking younger as it will help to scruff away the old cells... besides the peach fuzz. I've tried it and can tell you that you don't end up with stubble or whiskers or any discoloration.
Reply:Its not going to be pretty. You can develop razor bumps. Soo why dont you just tweeze it.
Reply:I wouldn't! Shaving causes your hair to grow back more coarse and noticeable. Make time to wax, pluck or use hair removal cream.
Reply:why don't you use nair or other facial hair removing lotion? It's safer, I think.
Reply:shaving/cutting the hairs on your chin help them grow stonger... (thicker and darker)... waxing pulls the hair to make it weak, if you keep it up waxing each month that if will be so weak the hairs will no grow.
Reply:my aunt always said that's what they make disposable razors for haha...but if i were you I'd go to a salon (or buy your own) and get it waxed...
Reply:Yes women CAN use a razor for their chin but i suggest DONT. The reason why is it will grow back quick and black like your underarms and legs. Yoyu might get back stubbles like men do and that is kinda gross. So i suggest a wax or just plucking the hair
Reply:YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THAT.Trust me

He wants to get hair replacement surgery, permanent skin discoloration, and minor reconstructive surgery on his face.

Reply:The subtle insult of all members of the Transgender community can't be missed in your question. Why else would you ask this question in the LGBT section? What many might miss with this is that it has to be seen an insult to African-Americans as well, when you understand the derogatory undertones contained within your question. I get that you don't understand the internal conflict that many members of the transgender community go through but please take your disapproval elsewhere.

And then he would probably say because white folk are weaker and never stick up for themselves and are embarrased of there own culture to the point that they must feed off of other cultures, which is what this person would be doing in the first place. I would think that African American people would respect us a whole lot more if we showed more pride in who we are. Throw all the racism in the gutter. All whites can come together and make our race look strong or you can be individuals feeding off of other cultures trying to fit in and make us look like ignorant inferiors.

Say Something !!! Snif Pleeeeease!!???

I have guys who ask me out but i can't go out with them because i'm insecure about my body.

i have a severe skin discoloration and they can't see that. I'm so afraid of rejection that i've just never dared to say YES to a date.

People what do you think? men would you date or be embarrassed by a girl you date who has acanthosis nigricans??

just be honest please. at least I'll be able to know what to expect. thank you.

Say Something !!! Snif Pleeeeease!!???
WHATS THAT?
Reply:if a guy really likes you he will like you for who you are not your body!
Reply:if you like him then say yes. you should tell him after you get comfortable w. him. if he really likes you he wont care.
Reply:If all they think about is your body then are they really the sort of guy that you would want to date?
Reply:be more confident about yourself. if all the guy you date cares about is looks, then you shouldn't date him. what matters is what's in your head. ; )
Reply:You probably notice it much more than anyone else. You said "date" which to me means going out in public with them. Get to know the guy. Become friends. Talk to him. Take it one step at a time. The guy wouldn't have asked you out if he wasn't interested in you. Hopefully, the guy you choose to go out with won't be that shallow.

Life is too short.
Reply:You should be happ y with your self and if the guy likes you it will not matter to him. It is like that movie coming out with the girl with the pig nose she relizes that he should love you without what you look like but whats in your heart,.

Go out, have a good time. You'll cross that bridge when you come to it. If the dude doesnt understand, its his loss.
Reply:You need to realize that people will like you for who you are and not what you look like. If your a fun person to be around and like to laugh then people will naturally want to be around you.

You are doing yourself a disservice by not accepting these dates. Relax, stop worrying about your skin and what you look like.. i'm sure its hard and although you may or may not suffer from this all your life you should not and cannot hold yourself back from enjoying things.

Next time someone asks you out, accept it. I"m sure you will be super nervous but the faster you ACCEPT YOURSELF and learn to love who you are the faster you will get over this.
Reply:sry...i am not a guy...but i have something in common with you.

when i was way small i had this very bad injury...and it left me with scars for life.

and i am only 13 now...i am afriad that no guy in this earth would want to date me too.

though this might be useless, but i suggest you go out with some of the guys you favor...and if they really like you, they wouldn't care about the flaws you have.(%26lt;-which we all have...just different ones.)

=D Hope everything goes well.
Reply:Hey there,

If guys didn't like your appearance if they did not like what they saw then they wouldn't ask you out in the first place.

Love is more looks it goes deeper than the outer layer perhaps they like you for personality.

Give it a go and next time you are asked out just say yes

You never no it may just work out great. Once you have been out on a few dates it will get easier

Good Luck.
Reply:The guys who have asked you out are not bothered by the acanthosis nigricans or it is on an unexposed area so accept the dates! If a relationship evolves to the point of revealing the unexposed area give the guy a warning of what to expect. This may be difficult but you would need to overcome your insecurity as many who were born with a birthmark has done. I hope you are seeing a dermatologist and / or a doctor to receive good medical advice.

Good Luck, accept the dates and have fun. Be brave as well.
Reply:well am not a guy but I sure can help out here. Listen here, if guys are asking you out it means you are attractive and you don't have leprosy which is a more worst skin disease. Beside any guy that really likes you wouldn't mind if you your skin is is blue black.

Do you know your self esteem needs to be worked on. You need to learn how to think well of your self regardless of your skin discoloration or whatever. You are not just your skin, you have to know that. There are some very important qualities lurking within you that maybe you've not discovered and you sure need to know how awesome you are.

I suggest you stop degrading yourself and go out for a date. See, let me share a secret with you. People are attracted to who you are inside, not how you look
Reply:I would be more concerned about the underlying condition...obesity or diabetes. Don't expect guys to overlook health problems that you choose to ignore or don't want to deal with.

How do I check credentials for a laser hair removal place?

How do I make sure the place I’m going to get my laser hair removal done at actually knows what their doing? Is there a way to check the company’s credentials? This place does other stuff like permanent makeup, botox, and peels. For one treatment on the underarms its $75. Does this sound right or fishy? Also is there any risk of permanent skin discoloration in the area you have lasered? What about scaring? And if it does scar, how big?

I am African American and always have a hard time with and ingrowns plus I really want to remove hair...?
Ingrown hair is common with everyone in the bikini area due to the curly nature of the hair. With people of African decent, it is common in both men and women (men have it with their facial hair due to shaving. A product called Tend Skin will help tremendously. It is a salicylic based product that will lightly exfoliate and help the hair escape the skin and not turn over on itself which is of course an ingrown. I would check online for availibily (I have never seen it at Walgreen's or similar drugstores) You might also want to try Sally's Beauty Supply.

Tattoo removal questions?

So, when I was 16 I got my 1st tattoo, at 18 I got my 2nd and now at 28 I want them gone!!! They are both black ink thick and the larger of the 2 is @ 12"x2", the smaller one is @ 2"x2" does anyone have any experience with tattoo removals...does it leave a scar or skin discoloration, etc....is black harder to remove, etc. etc.....real life experiences please, not just what you've heard....Thanks

Tattoo removal questions?
I worked for medical practice and assisted with laser tattoo removal treatments. Most patients were unhappy with it for different reasons. The type of ink and whether it was professionally designed or amateur are factors with removal. Honestly, there is no quick magic trick to make the tattoos disappear (believe me I wish there was). My brother asked me for the same advice - although he wants to fade current tattoo to have a cover-up tat done. I recommended he use WreckingBalm vs laser. From experience if used consistently it works and costs much less then laser and does not hurt. Laser works but again can be costly and timely. Make sure doctor has several lasers and has the one that removes the colors in your tattoo as no single laser exists that removes all ink colors. For more suggestions and information check out http://www.TattooRemovalReality.com
Reply:This might help you out http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Tattoo...

Another option might be to get it covered up
Reply:1. Laser tattoo removal.... can cost $1000's and leaves bad scarring

2. Tat Gone Ink...and yes it does work. I have one on myself that was done, took 4 sessions on a solid black and red tattoo and it is gone and ready for my chest piece to be started. Tat Gone Ink is tattooed onto the tattoo through the same method as getting a regular tattoo. The Tat Gone Ink attaches itself to the ink in the tattoo and as it heals turns to a "clay like" substance and pulls the ink out of the tattoo as it scabs and pulls itself from the tattoo. Basically you're body is rejecting the Tat Gone Ink and along with it the ink of the tattoo being removed. It looks horrible for a couple of weeks while it is coming out of the skin and scabbed over, but once the scabbing is gone, you can tell a difference immediately. Some can be completely removed in just a couple of sittings depending on how well the original tattoo was done, what the colors are, etc. It doesn't cost much more than getting a tattoo either, and the scarring compared to laser removal is very very minimal.

3. Dermabrasion, but I would not recommend this route to even my worst enemy as the scarring from it is horrible, it is extremely painful during healing, and doesn't always work without causing excessive damage to the skin. Dermabrasion is one of the ways that I do scarification, and the tattoo removal version of it is not much different at all...a dremel like tool is used with a "sanding bit" more or less and the skin is sanded off. This causes friction burns in the process which is why it does not bleed much because it pretty much cauterizes it as it sands.
Reply:is it because you dont like the tattoo anymore?? because if that is so, why dont you just get a cover up tattoo, it is where you get a different tattoo that you will love to have the rest of your life. and they wont leave a scar and as painful as the removal. and wont cost as much!! good luck
Reply:Please don't listen to people who tell you to cover it up with another Tattoo. This plan usually just means more pain and suffering, and a larger tattoo that you will eventually wish you didn't have.

Birthmark problem?

A friend of mine has a birthmark on her leg.(its on her schin) She refuses to wear anything that will show it off. No shorts or short skirts. Even in the summer time, when it gets blistering hot outside, she will wear pants. The birthmark is brown and about 2 inches long, it is very noticable. It looks like a skin discoloration, nothing extravagant. I have always told her that nobody really notices it to help make her feel more confident, but it doesn't help. She is beautiful girl with a great body. Does anybody know if a dermatologist can remove it? Or anybody that can remove it for that matter? Or perhaps any advice on how I can boost her self-esteem with words??

Birthmark problem?
i wouldnt want my birthmark to be removed! you could give her a skirt or shorts that goes down to her knees then ask her to wear it for you. (since you are a friend of hers) when she trys it on (or wears it!) tell her how awesome she looks. if that doesnt work then just tell her that you envy her body and that she needs to show more legs or something like that.
Reply:i have a ugly birthmark on my right thigh...and im not showing it either. i think everyones gonna be like ill or looking. so i need help too. how much is it to get it removed? im 14 but i plan on getting surgery or a tattoo over it.ha... Report It

Reply:i have the same prob. Report It

Reply:You would have to get surgery for this. Unfortuantely, it will not be covered under insurance since it does not have to do with health.

She should not worry about it. It is on her schin. Tell her I am a man and it wouldn't bother me 1 bit.

She was born with it. It is what God gave her.

Good Luck!!!
Reply:hi,

To tell you the truth nothing you say will help her. I know i have the same type of birth mark but around my mouth. If she wants to get rid of it, she has to see a skin specialist who will then send her to a dermatologist who can remove it through lazer surgery.

Only the other day i had some girls say i was the bearded lady, it hurts, but i am happy cos i have a man that loves me, a child that loves me, and what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger.

I saw in the Allure magazine a new product that is a new laser that can be used at home that treats wrinkles..

Its called NULASE(www.nulase.com) i am getting confuse because there is another machine called CLARISONIC(www.clarisonic.com) that is really good to. I dont know which one to purchase please advice me about them.

I don't know they are both very expensive. At least with clarsonic you can make 4 payments and a 30 day trial (you have to click on the as seen on tv link first)

I never heard of the other one but I have plenty of stretch marks I'd liek to try it on. Great now there's TWO products I want to buy. That'll be 500$! with tax.

*Pics* Matching Rashes around both of my eyes *Pics*?

Tonight, within several hours, these two matching rashes developed around both of my eyes, kind of in a tear drop or comma shape.

The second picture has bad quality, its not as noticable due to the lighting, but in person they are identical. Also, in the second pic, there is a greenish color around my nose, that's also because of the bad pic quality, its not really that color (Just to let you know, so you don't think i have skin discoloration or something)

In a way it's kind of interesting, i've never seen anything like it, but I'm also concerned. They have the same burning sensation as a sunburn (I know its not sunburn though, I haven't been outside)

It looks like an allergic reaction to something that you have touched. It could also be contact dermatitis. If it doesn't clear up you should see the doctor. If you have any Calamine or Caladry lotion you can try that to see if it will help.
Reply:that is very interesting. it doesn't look to dangerous, but it is close to your eyes. if it doesn't go away or if it gets worse you should definitely see a doctor, especially because it burns.

Is it safe to use a tanning bed when pregnant?

FYI - I haven't..

I've heard so many horror stories about it, but when I was tanning, there was no warning on the tanning bed - only that you may get skin discoloration.

Is it safe to use a tanning bed when pregnant?
Most obstetricians will discourage tanning beds (along with hot tubs and saunas) during the first trimester. This is because tanning beds increase your body temperature and overheating in the mother can cause spinal malformations to the fetus.

Also, during pregnancy, a woman's skin tends to be more sensitive posing an increased risk to the mother of burning and, later in life, melanoma.

UV rays are also thought to cause a problem with folic acid...leading to a deficiency.

With all that in mind, that tan just doesn't seem to be worth the risk but only the pregnant woman can make that choice for herself.

As backup to what I have typed:

http://www.tanning-advisor.com/pregnancy...
Reply:I wouldn't that sounds TOO risky.
Reply:No it isn't a good idea to use a tanning bed while pregnant. It can harm the unborn fetus.
Reply:do you wanna cook your baby? I think it would be the same as a microwave.
Reply:I'm not sure but don't. It's probably very harmful because of the rays, Get a good bronzer...they really look good.
Reply:No.
Reply:NO NO NO NO
Reply:I don't think so. I mean you shouldn't dye your hair cause of chemicals so I don't think that would be good either. Use lotions or sprays don't take the risk.
Reply:It's NEVER safe 2 use a tanning bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... :)
Reply:NO, NO, NO. Please just wait until you have the baby. What if it did cause some harm, then how would you feel? It is summer, get out and swim or do something to get you some color. try a Mystic Tan and there also great sunless tanners on the market now. Please. I just had a miscarriage for an unknown reason. Don't cause possible unnecessary harm to your baby. The tan would never, ever be worth it.
Reply:i wouldn't do it, you would be exposing your unborn baby to harmful UV rays, plus it could compicate your pregnancy and could damage your unborn babies organs. DON"T DO IT!!!
Reply:is there such a thing as TOO risky when it comes to the health of your unborn baby? It is either a risk or not and tanning is a risk. Think about it you are shooting rays almost directly on your baby. If it harms you imagine what its doing to him/her. I say there is no risk worth taking during pregnancy if there is a question just dont do it plain and simple
Reply:tanning beds aren't good for you when your not pregnant, they worse if you are
Reply:no it is not safe to use a tanning bed. or sitting out in the sun for a while to tan do neither
Reply:I wouldnt do it is to scary you must want to fry your baby or something. U might hurt her/him u mite even kill her/him. DONT DO IT!!!!!!!
Reply:IT AINT GONA COOK THE BABY DUMBY i tanned while i was prego and my son is fine. i tanned up until 7 mos. then i was too fat and i think the tanning bed owners knew i was prego so i stopped going before they made me stop lol

anyways my sister tanned with her youngest son wh ois now 18 mos. and he is fine.

i duno why they say not to do it but we did and our kids are fine
Reply:My doctor told me no tanning bed what so ever (I didnt want to go in a tanning bed eighter but I had asked about tanning). She said that the ultralights could be harmful to the baby.....she did tell me that there was nothing wrong with tanning in the regular sun as long as I drank plenty of water, keep my stomach covered (which I never should my stomach before pregnancy I sure wasnt going to when I was pregnant), and to use sunblock. She told me that going to the pool was very good for me and the baby just make sure not to over due it in the heat. Anyway....I do think tanning beds should put a warning on there...I would think that they would have too. Anyways thats what I know about the subject..
Reply:LOL! As Rainbo says, it's never safe.

But it is no more dangerous to your baby than you walking in the sun in a bathing suit! For heaven's sake, it's LIGHT!

Can light harm you? Yup, it sure can. Too much UV radiation (light) leads to melanoma, a particularly deadly cancer. But it is no MORE harmful coming from a tanning bed than from the sun. It just takes a lot less time to overdo it in the tanning bed. Unless you have transparent skin and a transparent uterus, though, it won't affect the baby at all.

For your baby's sake, avoid both. He or she will want you around to attend hir wedding.
Reply:MY DOCTOR SAID I COULD TAN 10 MINUTES A WEEK!! i was always tanning like 15 minutes a night and i am naturally dark complected so that might have something to do with it. The ultraviolet rays do not go past your skin*(ONTO THE BABY) the only thing is if it raises your body temperature it could harm your baby . but taking a walk outside in the heat could also raise your body temperature, or being sick or having a fever! it does not BAKE your baby, people are stupid i swear. It does increase your risk of getting the 'pregnancy mask' and the line down your tummy though!! i only tanned a few times since ive been pregnant. It kept me from getting PALE but once summer came i never got in the tanning bed again, sittin outside for ten minutes gave me all the color i needed!

Just because your are pregnant does not mean you have to quit everything and became a pale fat woman lol you can still be beautiful with a nice tan!! i mean come on, everyone griped at me for wanting to keep my nice tan and everyone griped for dying your hair- when the color turned out better than before i got pregnant!!!!! goodness!

and one more thing, my doctor's been deliverin babies for 30 years. i didnt even ask em if i could tan, he seen my little bunny on my stomach (from tannin) and i was like 'yeah i cant tan anymore:( and he was like ya you can but only tan 10 minutes a week.
Reply:When I was pregnant, my doctor said I could use the tanning bed after the first trimester. Which I did and my daughter is 3 and fine.

Vitamin E.?

What is vitamin E used for...Also. I have like skin discoloration on parts of my face...Never had them before...Anyway of removing...

Vitamin E.?
Vitamin E is very good for the skin, to help heal it, to even sooth sun burn..To be honest i dont think it would help discoloration to the face, you would prolly need to see a dermatologist for something like that.
Reply:Vitamin E, despite the common belief, generally has minimal benefit unique to itself when applied to the skin. Most of its beneficial qualities topically come from the mineral oil base that most capsules carry the vitamin in - keeps the skin moist and healthy. Vaseline is just as good, if not better.

As for skin discoloration, there are way too many factors to consider. What's your skin type - light or drak? What is the discoloration - lighter or darker? Generally, if you develop new spots that don't resolve, they should be checked out. May be nothing, but these things often continue to get worse, even if benign.
Reply:Vitamin E is good for your skin but you are better off ingesting it. It works best when combined with a moderate dose of Vitamin D (cod liver oil.) Some people end up with severe acne, an allergic reaction when they put it on the face. You should go to a dermatologist for help with the discoloration. At home you could make a mixture of honey, fresh lemon juice and a few teaspoons of sugar mixed gently. GENTLY use your fingers to rub the mixture over your skin, avoiding your eye area, rinse with warm water, then moisturize your skin. Don't get excited and scrub too vigorously or you may irritate your skin. Do this twice a week and you should see an improvement in a few weeks.
Reply:Vitamin E is very good for skin allergies, brain and heart and its good for removing clots in veins

not if it was all over there face.....!
Reply:No, if just looking at her. If she had a great personality that I loved, I would.
Reply:I am good at being honest. Honestly :-) I am a woman and if it were a man with that condition..as long as he had attractive features I don't THINK it would matter much. It really would depend though how severe and where it was. I see beauty in everything though..we're rare..but out there. So there is hope.

Is this normal or not?(read details)?

on my skin i have yellow spots on them. Im not shure if this is a medical disorder or if its serious skin discoloration or something. Any suggestions?

Is this normal or not?(read details)?
This is a hard one to respond to.... are you young or old, Caucasian? Oriental? African Am.? The really highly pigmented folks have some inherited conditions that result in areas of unpigmented skin. European folk can get "age spots" that are just pigment building up in areas that get a lot of sun exposure...

Big spots (over a dime-size?). Little (pencil point?) Raised or flat?

I think the best thing to do would be to go to a dermatology web site %26amp; see if you can find spots that look like yours. There are just too many variables.
Reply:The best treatment in the elimination of acne is to clean the skin by some medicated cleansers.

A cleanser removes the sweat, make-up, accumulated oil and dirt on the surface of the skin.

These cleansers makes easy for the topical acne treatments to absorb in the skin and too much use of these cleansers can result into irritated dry skin. So, these acne cleansers should be applied only once and twice daily.

Vigorous washing and scrubbing the skin can make the acne worse.

Does mederma work on acne scars?

My mom accidentally bought porcelana :P and im asian...i read the package and it said nothing for scars...just for skin discoloration..i thought i'd give it a try..It ruined my skin...i got like little bumps everywhere like rashes...anyways...i thought i'd switch to mederma..Does it work for acne scars? Plus, how long does it take for the acne scar to disappear?

Does mederma work on acne scars?
I've had problem skin growing up. It sucked because no matter the brand of cleansers and washes I bought at the store, they NEVER helped (Neutrogena, Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Proactiv and even higher end stuff that cost $30-$75). I used to have red spots all over my face that were from previous pimples and even when my skin was clear my skin still looked like crap and it looked like I still had acne. Until I found Alpha Hydrox on drugstore.com! I swear by this regimen! I can guarantee you'll see results with these products and they're all on drugstore.com. Wash only once a day with all this stuff, at night, and within a week you'll see change. I felt so helpless with my skin until these products.

Alpha Hydrox Nourishing Cleanser (this will shrink your pores in a week and blackheads are less noticeable), Biore's Triple Action Astringent (I love this stuff. It's the only toner that's ever helped my skin), Alpha Hydrox Fade cream (this will make your skin really red for a little bit after applying it, but it will go away. It might even sting/burn slightly for a couple minutes as well but that will go away within a few days and it's totally normal), and end it with an oil-free moisterizer WITH SPF and Alpha Hydrox has some that's good and so does Biore. The active ingredient in the Fade Cream makes your skin sensitive to sunlight so you have to use a moisturizer that has SPF or your face will go red when you go outside. The Fade Cream is $11 but lasts for at least 2 months. I know this is long but I know how you feel and I really think you'd benefit from this stuff. Good luck! Here's a link, http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brand...
Reply:Buy Pro-Active. It will work and is 100% gauranteed. It works well for acne scars, discoloration from oily and dry skin. and acne prone skin. Use the 3 step process. Mederma does work for scars but takes years to see a change. Pro-Active will give you results in about 6 weeks
Reply:yes it does it took about 1 month for my scar from stiches to be come smaller, and it was a really big scar

pro active like the first one said will do nothing if its a scar.

Hello i have a question about microdermabrasion?

i just had a microdermabrasion done in the office by my physician. yes it looks very GOOD!! i'm very pleased with the results and this is my first one. before the procedure my skin was very smooth and texture is great just suffering a little skin discoloration from the sun. MY QUESTION IS CAN I USE AND AT HOME MICRODERM KIT IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS TO MAINTAIN MY RESULTS??? THANKS.

Hello i have a question about microdermabrasion?
I wouldnt do that, youll be overdoing it and you could possibly camage your skin by doing more microdemrabrasion so soon. Wait a week or so at least...
Reply:You can but I'd wait 1 more day since you had it done at the dermatologists office. Give you skin a bit of a rest. Just because it looks okay just wait. I use 2 different kinsd of microdermabrasion: Origins (for the body) and Estee Lauder (for the face) usually every other night or every 2 nights. The face microdermabrasion is awesome, I cannot believe how good it works. My face feels like a babys bottom afterwards. You can still maintain results %26amp; probably save some $$$ in the process!
Reply:Please don't do that. Your face has just been abraded (okay, mildly, but still abraded) by tiny crystals. Even if it looks alright, your skin is healing right now and another abrading process like a home microderma kit or a chemical peel will only harm it further and this might damage your final results.

Wait another 2-3 days before starting doing microderma at home. And I would go to a few other professional sessions before I rely only on at-home kits, it is a lot more effective and results last longer.

Hope this helps.

Does holding in an ejaculation affect the penis?

I started masturbating at an early age, before I even understood what the goal was. In other words, I didn't know that I would eventually ejaculate. All I knew was that it felt good doing it. Well, the first time I was going to ejaculate, I thought I was actually going to urinate (I was very young, had not even seen pornography yet) so I held it in and, if I recall correctly, I never let the semen out. I think the 2nd time, the same thing happened but some semen just came out. I'm wondering if this could have affected my urethra or any thing else? As a side not, I do have what appears to be a "streak" of darker skin on the underside of my penis (which I mentioned in another post) and I have been wondering lately if there is a possible connection? I do not have any problems urinating or ejaculating now (I am 20), nor do I have any pain or discomfort in my penis. The only reason I ask is because the skin discoloration has bothered me for a while, and it might be related?

Does holding in an ejaculation affect the penis?
One poster is correct that you may get a backflow of semen into the bladder. This could be potentially damaging. The darkening on the underside of your penis is probably not due to masturbation.
Reply:No it hasnt effected you dont worry when you first masterbate you dont really know whats going on your fine it wouldnt effect you long term your fine just masterbate and be happy if you are worried about you penis go to the doctor and let him have a looksy
Reply:I don't believe you should forcefully hold back your semen. You may cause it to go into your bladder past a one way valve. This is getting beyond my expertise, just don't do it.
Reply:Yes it does help you. It helps you with your ejaculation control the more you keep holding it and your telling your brain that your not cu*ming and you manage to stay hard and last much longer in bed. So keep up the good work and keep on practicing.
Reply:ya holding ejaculation is not good, and dark skin in middle of ur penis is due to melanin and is normal.

Please vote: Diana Stalder or the swiss care l-glutathione soap and why? I'm need to decide now!!?

I'm going to purchase either one of those and i need your help in knowing which one to purchase according to my color and issue that is skin discoloration, my face, neck, shoulders and stomach are much more darker darker than the rest of my original light brown skin due to melanin over production due to sun, my other concern will be using the soaps on my entire body and complexion since i dont want the lighter zones to become more lighter or can i still use the soaps on my entire body and only see changes on the darkened areas without modifying the original? ty

Question about hormone levels...?

My FSH, LH and prolactin levels were tested and the results are FSH-21.6, LH-73.1, and prolactin 26.6. I know the prolactin level is slightly higher than normal, it's usually about 23.5 or so, but the FHS and LH I cannot really find any information about. I can find what they mean and know I do not ovulate regularly, but other than than I do not know. I cannot find a site to list the "normal" range of these hormones. I know they have something to do with possibly having PCOS which my doctor has talked to me about, but I have opposite symptoms of that disease. (Frequent periods-2 weeks apart, thin built, slight acne but being cleared up with Yaz, no abnormal skin discoloration or skin tabs, etc.) Can anyone help me make sense of this?

Question about hormone levels...?
Go to www.webmd.com do a search on hormone levels, you will then see a list of the different types of hormones click on the link and then click to change pages. Such as LH "levels" were on the very last page. Very sound information on this site as well. I hope this help.
Reply:Elevated FSH and LH are how they diagnose menopause.

A 3:1 ratio of those is one way they diagnose PCOS. And they are backwards too...the one that should be lower is the higher one. PCOS in it's easiest terms is a hormone imbalance...They can also diagnose by doing an internal ultrasound to look for cysts on the ovaries.

I would call your doc and ask them what they consider 'normal' range for those hormones.

You say you have 'opposite' symptoms...but do you really? "frequent' periods are irregular periods...just as missing periods are irregular periods, maybe your acne is being 'fixed' and covered up by Yaz? Not everyone with PCOS has all the symptoms....some have them mild, some have severe. Some PCOSers have NEVER had a period, some like me never ovulate....we cover the spectrum. Some are able to have children, some it takes years...and some....like me... never. :) Everyone's case is completely different.

A great site to learn more about it... thousands of women with PCOS... www.soucysters.net

I hope you don't have PCOS..but if you do. It's not too bad. Most of us cried the day we got diagnosed and then you start to learn about it and it gets easier.

GOOD LUCK! Be thinking about you! :)

Taking off tinea versicolor through sunburn??

I got tinea versicolor (fungi that causes skin discoloration) on my face and body recently and i was wondering if i can burn it and peel it off through sunburn? My dermatologist didnt answer this but she suggested peeling my skin.

Taking off tinea versicolor through sunburn??
i think the dermatologist was talking about face peels and microdermabrasion not a sunburn. i would think the heat would make the fungi spread.
Reply:Instead, why don't you opt for removing tinea versi color problem permanently through simple medication, i think there is a soap especially for skin fungus that you can use afetr bath and it will get rid of your prob completely. ask your dermatologist about it.
Reply:Selsun Blue applied to the skin (dab with a cotton ball and leave on overnight) will get rid of it in about a week. Burning your skin will cause more versicolor to appear and sunburn can cause other problems worse than tinea versicolor.

Are there any bad side effects to bleaching facial hair?

i heard some where that skin discoloration can occur if you bleach your hair facial hair often....is this true???? and what kidn of discoloration are we talking about?? any other side effects?

Are there any bad side effects to bleaching facial hair?
Somtimes the skin bleaches but it will go away the next day/ the hair often starts to grown out showing roots , if ur hair grows fast that is, so u have 2 keep up with the bleaching! other than that its a cheap easy method. hope it helps
Reply:YOU WILL LOOK LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON.
Reply:You look gay.
Reply:No, discoloration. If you leave it on longer than the suggested time then it will get a little red. It happened to me once. Doesnt stay red long
Reply:I little red spots (my friend got white ones) when I leave the bleach on too long but only lasts about an hour or so. It is a burn and should not be permanent but i'd be careful anyway.

How do i get rid of my acne, especially the dark scars left afterwards(quickly)?

I've been suffering from acne for almost 3 years, and I've tried everything. Proactiv solution didnt even work. I've seen doctors, but they've told me to use OTC medications, but those havent worked either. I have the most embarrassing black scar on my nose that has been there for about a year. I cannot seem to get rid of it. I also have skin discoloration all over my face.(mostly dark spots.)all over my left cheek mostly. can anyone tell me what i can do to get rid of this skin problem without having to see a dermatologist. I would gladly appreciate it. Because, i feel that i have the worst skin ever.(Im a light brown complexion)

How do i get rid of my acne, especially the dark scars left afterwards(quickly)?
first good skin care is key, drink lots of water and eat healthy, stay away from a lot of junk. dont touch your face unless your hands are clean, dont scratch or pick at pimples.

wash your face 2times a day, use something OTC for your skin type with salicylic acid.

use sun screen everyday, sun exposure makes any scars darker . give your body time to heal, the scars eventually fade.
Reply:dude i had ance for 7yrs! i know what ur going thru

surpisingly enuff head an shoulders shampoo worked for me it got rid of all of em n the scaring went away after awhile .

just a lil dab will do ya an dont put it too close to ur eyes itl sting like a ***** . i know cuz it happend to me. lol

but serisouly it worked for me. an i havnt had acne in a yr.

well good luck to ya

God bless
Reply:tissue oil or cocoa butter used consistently for a while will help. But don't use too many different products on your skin, especially those with perfume, and other chemicals. Try to use natural products, keep your skin clean always and give it a chance to heal on it's own aswell.
Reply:As for your dark spot issues, theres many types of age spot removers that work after a period of about three months. BUT, they all contain a substance (hydrocronone or something like that) that may cause cancer and is horrible for your liver.

Did I make a huge mistake by doing this?

well, i have a minor case of a skin discoloration all over my body. my under-arms, legs, hands, face and basically everywhere. i have white patches. not pale white, but a much lighter color than my natural skin color. well, before i had jus small spots, but after i joined the swim team at my high school, i started noticin that my patches have gotten really worse. my whole stomache is like completely discolored. its gross. my neck, face and everywhere else is also startin to change. should i get off or what?? im not sure if i do infact have VITILIGO, but i do have the symptoms. on my neck is a pale white shade and also my chest and everywhere else. i dont wanna quit, but if its hurtin my skin, should i?? should i wear sunblock from now on??

Did I make a huge mistake by doing this?
See a dermatologist right away.
Reply:You should see a doctor before you make a decision. You should always use sunblock, always.
Reply:This is a fungle infection of the skin,it increases if one swims in the pool ,but if you go to swim in the sea or the ocean it woud be better, this is not a big problem just go and visit a skin specailist and he will give you the right medicine for it,do not put anyting on these areas other then the medication given to you and do visit him again if you see no change but be very careful to what he says and never use any medication given to you by your friend or so coz it could have worked on him but not on you.
Reply:You're best bet would to ask a doctor who's familiar with that skin condition. Not to mention, it's probably a good idea to actually get diagnosed with it or rule it out if it's not that. It can be a sign of an underlying disease/disorder, and may be curable.
Reply:I think you have a fungal infection called 'white spots'. There are many 'anti-white spots' medication in pharmeceutical stores. But just to be sure, see your doctor about it. Fungal infections spread very quickly throughout the body. When you touch an area that's infected and then touch another area of your skin that is not, the uninfected area will get infected.
Reply:Vitiligo (IPA /ˌvɪtəˈlaɪgo/) or leukodermia is a chronic skin condition that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. The precise cause of vitiligo is complex and not fully understood. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic, and environmental factors. The population incidence in the United States is considered to be between 1% and 2%.

Signs

Half of people with vitiligo develop patches of de-pigmented skin appearing on extremities before their 20s. The patches may grow or remain constant in size. Patches often occur symmetrically across both sides on the body. Occasionally small areas may repigment as they are recolonised by melanocytes. The location of vitiligo affected skin changes over time, with some patches re-pigmenting and others becoming affected.

In some cases, mild trauma to an area of skin seems to cause new patches - for example around the ankles (caused by friction with shoes or sneakers). Vitiligo may also be caused by stress that affects the immune system, leading the body to react and start eliminating skin pigment.

Vitiligo on the scalp may affect the color of the hair (though not always), leaving white patches or streaks. It will similarly affect facial and body hair.

*Well these are the sign of Vitiligo, if there all match, is advise to look for Doctor. Hope it can help on your problem. :)
Reply:You need to go buy Head %26amp; Shoulder Shampoo and wash with it. That will kill any bactria that you have. Alot of people get these spots from tanning beds or swimming pools.

Make sure that you wash your hair first so you do not wash the Head %26amp; Shoulder off.

I think this will work!!

Thats about it. All my 17+ doctors are sending me to Duke Medical Research hospital this fall. I'm only 17 years old and fixing to be a senior in high school this fall. It gets frustrating going to my doctors and all they can do is shrug their sholders at me. I have been atmitted to the hospital and have been rushed multipal times to the ER

Can you have CREST syndrome and RSD(Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)?? I need answers!!! %26gt;_%26lt;!!?
It is possible to have RSD with several different types of other conditions, but by your symptoms you certainly have much more than RSD. The symptoms of RSD are severe burning pain, pathological changes in bone and skin, excessive sweating, extreme sensitivity to touch. All patients do not present all of the symptoms, but the symptom that is most common is extreme burning pain, and extreme sensitivity to touch. RSD does not have many of the other symptoms that you are presenting so seeing the specialist is something that you need to do asap. I know how it is to be so young and having such problems...I'm 15 and have had RSD fro almost 2 years. I would suggest seeing the doctor- you possibly could have RSD, but it is certainly not only RSD if you do have RSD. www.rsds.org is a good website for information on RSD. Good luck!

Do bleaching creams work?

I have skin discoloration that i want to get rid of. its mostly on my waist and face. Is it safe to use bleach creams? Because I have heard that many of them contain mercury. What brands do you recommend? One more question, how much lighter the skin will get, because I have light olive skin.

Do bleaching creams work?
you are correct.. mercury AND hydroquinone are not safe because evidence showed that they can cause skin cancer and severe skin damages.. they do work to bleach your skin, but you don't wanna see the results after a long term use..

newer and safer products should contain natural plant ingredients such as licorice extract, papain, kojic acid and vit.c.. i've researched this for a long time and found the right products that work well for me and a lot more satisfied users.. guess it's your lucky day today.. here's the link -
Reply:my friend uses sally hansen creme hair bleach it works but it is for her upper lip i dont know if you can use it for something

but the sally hansen brand works
Reply:better use lemon juice and honey

Which one of these bleaching cream is the best and most efficent and why!?

1- Banishing Cream Skin Discoloration Lightener?

2-Barielle Porcelain Skin Whitening Cream?

3-Glyquin (Hydroquinone USP, 4%) Skin Bleaching ?

Which one of these bleaching cream is the best and most efficent and why!?
I have tried all three and I perfer the third one. It is quite expensive but it is doctor recommended and it contains Glyquin XM Skin Bleaching Cream contains 4% hydroquinone, 10% glycolic acid, vitamin C and E, a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 and Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a super-moisturizing ingredient which was added to Glyquin to relieve the irritation that is sometimes associated with hydroquinone use. tyhe others don't contain this.
