I have tried soaking them...and then layers of dead skin comes off, then I use creams/lotions.
There isn't any smell or discoloration...just spots that are rough...the heals and the big toe area.
Help?
How do you treat rough and scaly skin on feet?
My daughter has this problem now at 38 years old, but has had it since she was a child. Her feet crack and split, too, causing a LOT of pain. We found it helps to walk in the ocean, believe it or not. We think it has to do with the gentle abrasion of the sand as well as the healing properties of salt water. Lacking access to the ocean, try showering or bathing with Olay liquid soaps that specify for dry skin after using a pumice stone on trouble spots. Be sure to rub your feet dry, and apply a moisturizer, rubbing it in gently. I hope this helps you.
Reply:Slather a bunch of Vaseline all over your feet - don't try to rub it all in. Wrap your feet if plastic wrap, and then put socks on. Sleep in them. In the morning, rinse your feet in hot water and soap to get any remaining Vaseline off, dry them off, then rub some lotion in. Your feet will be baby smooth. Works for me :) I do it maybe twice a month.
Reply:hi, i have the same problem with my heels, and if u can get it try schol cracked heel cream, put loads on morining and night and then soak once a week then pumice. do this and every thing should smooth it's self out
Reply:amputation works
Reply:Why would you want to treat it? It's doing you no favours.
Reply:Hey there. All the suggestions are good ones...except for the amputation thing!
I just wanted to add that the most important thing is to buy yourself one of those razor-like things that you slide over the dead skin on your heels...you know....like they do in salons when you get a pedicure...that is the biggest secret to nice feet. You can pick one up at any one of those big pharmacies. Make sure you soak your feet for a long time before and dry them off before you use it. Use the pumice thing after...wash your feet....do your toe cuticles....lather your feet in a cracked heel or dry skin lotion, place them in 2 plastic bags (the kind from the grocery store), put socks over them and in the morning you will wake up with the best homemade pedicure of your life...just put on some polish.
I am not usually this girly...but I really like my feet in tip top shape!
