What counsel would you give to a Caucasion who wants to live his life as an African-american?

He wants to get hair replacement surgery, permanent skin discoloration, and minor reconstructive surgery on his face.


He feels that he is a black man inside a white man's body?

What counsel would you give to a Caucasion who wants to live his life as an African-american?
I'd counsel him to see a psychologist.

I once saw a black man on Jerry Springer who wanted to join the KKK.


It was a very weird episode.
Reply:I would give him the same counsel i would give ANYONE who wanted to take such drastic measures to become someone they weren't born to be. I would want to know why he cant love himself for who he is. I would ask if he is prepared for all of the stereotypes that black men deal with. I would ask if he is willing to help SHATTER these stereotypes and become and aset to black culture, or does he just want to "become" black for selfish reasons and do nothing with it.

Reply:The subtle insult of all members of the Transgender community can't be missed in your question. Why else would you ask this question in the LGBT section? What many might miss with this is that it has to be seen an insult to African-Americans as well, when you understand the derogatory undertones contained within your question. I get that you don't understand the internal conflict that many members of the transgender community go through but please take your disapproval elsewhere.

Reply:I would first ask why he isn't proud of who who is. And then he would probably say because white folk are weaker and never stick up for themselves and are embarrased of there own culture to the point that they must feed off of other cultures, which is what this person would be doing in the first place. I would think that African American people would respect us a whole lot more if we showed more pride in who we are. Throw all the racism in the gutter. All whites can come together and make our race look strong or you can be individuals feeding off of other cultures trying to fit in and make us look like ignorant inferiors.
