How can I get rid of acne and dark color scars from my face & Could a sunburn to the face help clear my face?

I have many acne scars and previous scars from an alergy reaction to medications. These scars are darkish brown and require me to put so much make up to cover them. They are not a pretty site when I don't have make up covering them up.I am wondering if a sunburn and peeling would help improve them to lighten up along with special creams to lighten them up to clearing them up completely. These are only surface scars that are discolorations to the skin. I need help to find out the best thing to do to rid them once and for all.

How can I get rid of acne and dark color scars from my face %26amp; Could a sunburn to the face help clear my face?
No!! If you get sunburn on your face you're more likely to get a melanoma than get rid of your pox marks. Go see a dermatologist, that's what they are for. They are professionals, and can see your own circumstances and recommend something that will work for you personally. Check on what a chemical peel would do for you, and don't ask spa people, they just want to sell you a product or service, you need to ask a doctor, more importantly, a dermatologist!!! And for pete's sake, why didn't you ask a dermatologist when you had acne, so you could avoid this now? Never be afraid or ashamed to ask a doctor anything, they've heard it all! Good luck with that!
Reply:Try some of those scar creams that you can get over the counter or talk to a dermatologist if you aren't seeing any results. He can give you samples of things to try.
Reply:The best thing to do would be to go to a skin professional. All of the "at home" products or techniques will only be a waste of time and money. Dermatologists can do microdermabrasion and if you go to a spa, they can do AMAZING facials.
Reply:There's special medicine and facial lotions you can purchase at the stores that helps cure acne and acne scars (they're usually separate). I don't think sunburns to the face will help clear your face, and if something goes bad, it might leave a sunburn scar (yeah I know it sort of sounds stupid but it happens... )

I'd stick with the medicine and lotions and stuff :D I'd say those are much safer than sunburns :o I don't think sunburns will help clear the scars either...
Reply:No, do not purposely get a sunburn. This is bad for the skin, and will not give the results you want. It also gives you a greater risk of skin cancer.

Find a good dermatologist. He/she can help you take care of your face.
Reply:No No No do not get a sunburn!! Sunburns can cause "sun spots" which look like freckles. I don't have any freckles but a few months ago I got burned really bad on my shoulders and now I have several freckles all over my shoulders from the sunburn when I had none before. Besides everytime your skin burns your chance for skin cancer rises dramatically. Your best bet would be to get a chemical peel or microdermibrasion from the doctor. Go see a dermatologist. Do not get a burn, you can make it worse.

Reply:my sister has a severe problem with acne she is using this one thing called gourgespill heres the website http://www.alexchiu.com/bulletin/wwwboar... take a look at the subjects of the message board its pretty cool.
Reply:You can choose from number of facial peels to help you get rid of scars...you can get a Glycolic Facial Peel, Chemical Peel with Microdermabrasion, laser, etc...but your best bet is either go to a spa that does these types of treatment or go to your dermatologist. But always discuss your options and tell them exactly what you are looking for. Or you can go to your local grocery store and use one of those peels...it might be cheaper this way.
Reply:Sunburn never helps, it would give you wrinkle in a long term.I'd say treatment works well on scars as well as vitamin E cream. Try to go and see a demartologist, he/she always has good stuff that would help you. It costs more , but you won't watse your time and money, trying some crappy products! good luck!
Reply:If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:
