i have a 2cm by 2 cm lump on my back, its under the skin, smooth, doesnt hurt to touch, hard, and has no discoloration, and i was wondering if it could be cancer or somthing. Also, yes i am going to a doctor. But any1 know what it could be beforehand
Lump on back?
The most common misconception within the young adult age group is that a 'lump' is nothing to be concerned about . . because you feel good and you cannot imagine that cancer has no symptoms. No one here can tell you whether this is a malignant or benign tumor . . but anything that is 2cm should definitely be checked by a doctor.
The lump could also be a Sebaceous cyst which is a little hair follicle sac that has stretched out and is filled with a cheesy like gunk. It is very similar to a pimple only much larger. These can cause problems when they become infected, so you should keep a close watch on it. These types of cysts are found on the face, neck, and trunk and are generally painless and can be pushed around. But since no one here can see what this is than you need a physical examination to rule out cancer. If the doctor is at all suspicious he may take a biopsy of the lump or just completely remove it.
Best of luck.
Reply:Sounds dangerous, you should cut it out immediately.
Reply:yeah that doesn't sound good.
i've got something similar, i've had it for 2 and a half yeras now, its a lump that feels like a big zit on my back and when i have a look in the mirror its a purpley/black colour and its getting bigger every year but the thing its not a circle its more like a blotch, maybe i shoud see a doctor, i haope you're ok and that what you have isn't cancer because i may have melanoma - damn beach.
Reply:It is probably nothing but if it is something it could be cancer. You need to see a doctor immediately. My nephew had a melanoma on his shoulder in his 20's.
Like I said, it is probably nothing. But if you wait and it is cancer, it could be too late. What are you waiting for, go see a doctor!
Reply:Its probably nothing, probably just a knot on your back
Reply:You might have already been to the doc but...I have similar bumps and the dermotologist tells me they are totally B9. The name escapes me and the name is unusual. he says they are a skin reaction to a bug bite. I have had a few since my 20s. I have had several removed...always B9.

Concealer Help pls!!!!?
so i need to get concealer for a couple of things.
*dark (purplish) undereye circles
*my rosecea on my cheeks(i never get to wear any blush!!!)
*some discoloration i have that cause me to get dark skin in a certain area. (or should i lighten that area?)
Concealer Help pls!!!!?
For the dark undereye circles you need to apply a hydrating cream first, then a light pink colored concealer to bring a highlight to your undereyes and minimize the purplish color. Then cover that with mineral powder or foundation.
For the Rosecea you will need to see a dermotologist. To get great coverage without looking like you have a ton of makeup on use a mineral powder (like physians formula) it can be purchased just about anywhere.
For the skin discoloration you need to use a toner on your face daily to try to even your skintone.
Reply:almay exact shade make-up
Reply:I reccomend MAC makeup. They're makeup won't clog your pores and it is great to conceal also! MAC is like stage makeup, you will look good on stage and in pictures and of course in person! But dont pack it on. Everyone looks more beautiful natural! Good luck!
Reply:u should try mac concealer it will cover anything,it covers my horribly bad undereye circles and my acne scars
Reply:I love Almay concealer for my under-eyes. Just make sure you use a small makeup brush and dab at it to blend.
For the rest of my face, Bare Minerals is awesome. It evens skin tones and is so good for your skin, I swear by it. (It is expensive but it LASTS a LONG time...It has taken me nearly a year to go through a container of foundation!!)
Reply:for the under eye circles, use Neutrogena 3 in 1 Under Eye Concealer, and for the discoloration and rosecea use Almay Nearly Naked Cover Up Stick. good luck!

Uneven pigment - photo facial? peel? Glycolic acid? What to do?
I have always had great skin, though in the last few years I have noticed some discoloration (darker areas/some red areas), and fine lines. I assume the discoloration is from sun damage. I am 38 and have very fair skin with olive undertones. Is there anything I can buy and use at home that will make a difference? I know that a photo-facial or peel would help, but I don't have the funds right now for that. What is my best low cost option? Anything tried and true? Thanks.
Uneven pigment - photo facial? peel? Glycolic acid? What to do?
You can contact your local Mary Kay lady and ask to try the Even Complexion Essence. TimeWise® Even Complexion Essence is clinically shown to restore skin's natural, even tone by helping reduce visible dark spots and reverse skin discoloration. And when added to a comprehensive age-fighting program like TimeWise® skin care, this concentrated serum can help every woman – from ivory to beige to bronze skin tones – see a more even complexion. You'll see results in as little as four weeks. And with continuous use, the powerful results get even better.
84% of panelists experienced a more even skin tone.
Reply:Glycolic peel!!! NOOOOO!!! After you do this you will probably want to go back and continue doing this because of the effects this peel will give you. Yes, the results will be like having baby skin again, since they literally take the upper layer of your skin and a new one is born. After that, you'll run back like crazy to get another, and another, and so on. UNTILL INSTEAD OF DISCOLORATION REAPEARS, YOU WILL NOTICE BROKEN CAPILLARIES. Have you heard of turmeric and lemon? I recently had hyperpigmentation after my last pregnancy (my baby is now 5 mo.), and I've been washing my face w/Juice Organics brightening cleanser $10. I also use Origins Gentle Microdermabrasion 4oz $36, and I also rub a little lemon mixed w/a pinch of turmeric and find this working. I have not had any harsh reactions at all and I get very nice comments on my skin by other moms who say it took them longer to get rid of all the skin problems they had associated with they're pregnancies.

Had sexual contact 2 weeks ago, now have developed strange symptoms, scared it may be HIV?
I'm a 24 yr old young man, 2 weeks ago I had protected sex (latex condom) with a girl. This was my first and only vaginal sex encounter so far.
A few days after our encounter I noticed discoloration on the head of my penis, also the skin on the head of my penis looks a little wrinkly.
A couple of days after that I developed 4-5 small bumps on my penis where the shaft %26amp; head meet on the bottom of my penis that irritate a little.
I have come to terms with the fact that I probably have herpes, but then last night I notice I felt pressure on my throat (nothing painful) %26amp; it's hard to swallow, %26amp; this afternoon while in the shower the left side of my neck got tense, %26amp; I think the lymph node on that side may be swollen.
After doing some research I noticed the last 2 condtions were common with people who have contracted HIV.
I dont know if I am overracting, but for the past couple of days I have been terrified %26amp; I cant sleep :(

It could just be a bacterial infection. Dont panic until you have a real reason. You need to get tested to be safe. That simple. It is unusual to notice any sypmtoms of HIV so early...I think it has a longer incubation period...Im not sure. Just go get tested...the county health clinic is free and discreet.
Reply:Go to the doctor. AIDS takes years to develop, it starts as HIV which is relatively symptom free and can go undiscovered for years so it unlikely to be this. Get it checked out by a doctor.
Could be your allegeric to latex and also you have some paranoia about sex
Reply:HIV takes months to show up , you have something else , maybe herpies.
Reply:This doesn't sound like HIV infection, which is extremely unlikely if you used a condom.
There could be a number of reasons for irritating bumps on your penis: they could be herpes, but that usually shows up as ulcers that are very tender. Another possibility is scabies, or they could just be common pimples. The only way to find out is to let your doctor look at them.
The pressure on your throat sounds like a symptom people often get when they are very anxious. I'd suggest it might be a good idea to talk to someone face to face about what you're anxious about, which is probably another good reason to sit down with your doctor.
Reply:You probably don't have AIDS, but if you keep screwing around you will end up getting it.
Reply:Definitely not hiv!! And you can take that to the bank!
Reply:First off you should go to the ER if your having problems with your airway!!! you could have Syphilis, because you kinda sound like you do....here some info on that....
In the first (primary) stage, about 10 days to six weeks after exposure: a painless sore (chancre) or many sores that will heal on their own. If not treated, infection spreads to the next stage. Secondary stage: skin rash that usually does not itch and clears on its own. Fever, swollen lymph glands, sore throat, patchy hair loss, headaches, weight loss, muscle aches, and tiredness. Latent (hidden) stage: symptoms disappear, but infection remains in body and can damage the brain, nerves, eyes, heart, blood vessels, liver, bones, and joints. Late stage: not able to coordinate muscle movements, paralysis, numbness, gradual blindness, dementia, and possibly death. CAN BE COMPLETELY CURED, but can be caught again, especially if both sex partners aren't treated.
TAKE MY WORD FOR IT%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;GO TO THE HOSPITAL TONIGHT!!
NOTE: HIV can take up to 10 years or more to have symptoms!
Reply:go get tested u idiot!
Reply:Get tested for any STD you can, but HIV may not show up for six months. It's also incredibly rare for a person to get HIV and have symptoms show up within two weeks. I'm just advising you to get tested for your own piece of mind. Having sex one time with a condom is possible - but unlikely - to lead to you getting an STD.
As for the throat/lymph nodes - it's WINTER. Half the people I know have similar symptoms. It's most likely one of the viruses that's getting passed around. The only way I can think that it MAY be STD related is if you to have a disease and your immune system isn't at its best. Again, highly unlikely, and you've probably just got a cold or flu bug, but by all means get tested so you can sleep at night.
Take it up a notch too - you're 24 and you've slept with one girl. I assume she's rather special to you. Talk to her openly about your concerns; find out her sexual history; ask her to get tested too.

Reply:If you noticed symptoms after just a few days then you probably just had some type of reaction with the latex condom, especially if it was your first time using one. Most STD's won't show signs or symptoms right away or even after a couple days or weeks. I wouldn't worry, but if you are, just go see a dr.
Reply:I am not sure what you mean that this is your first vaginal sex, I assume that either that this the first time you had sex or you had anal sex before ( which you should never have, due to the fact of the feces and baceria that leaves in there). It sound that with discoloration of the penis and having bumps in your penis that you have HERPES. Sometimes HIV testing does not show that you have HIV/AIDS because the virus is what we call in medical field INACTIVE, but it can be active anytime especially if you get sick like a cold, fevers, sore throats because your immune system weakens and even though it releases white blood cell to fight infection sometimes that is not enough and antibiotics are required. It sounds more like HERPES, but I still say you should see a doctor. Don't be ashamed. I work in a clinic and we have people all the time who come in for STD testing. Is this the first time you used a condom? I have heard some people that they have an allergy to latexx, even though condoms are made to be hypoallergic.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
Reply:The only way to determine for sure whether you have HIV/AIDS is to be tested for HIV infection. You cannot rely on symptoms to know whether or not you are infected with HIV. Many people who are infected with HIV do not have any symptoms at all for many years. But for those who do, what are the symptoms of HIV? First...three things to keep in mind.
Important Fact #1
No one should assume they are infected if they have any of these symptoms. Each of these symptoms can be related to other illnesses.
Important Fact #2
The only way to determine whether you are infected is to be tested for HIV infection.
Important Fact #3
You cannot rely on symptoms to establish that a person has AIDS. The symptoms of AIDS are similar to the symptoms of many other illnesses. AIDS is a medical diagnosis made by a doctor based on specific criteria established by the CDC.
The Symptoms of HIV Infection:
•rapid weight loss
•dry cough
•recurring fever or profuse night sweats
•profound and unexplained fatigue
•swollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
(lymphadenopathy)
• diarrhea that lasts for more than a week
• white spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue, in the
mouth, or in the throat (thrush)
• pneumonia
•red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the
skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids (Kaposi
Sarcoma)
•memory loss, depression, and other neurological
disorders
So you should relax! And if you have been at risk, wait 2-3 months before getting an HIV test.
That's My Best answer! Hope it can help!
Reply:1. In truth, the chances of you getting HIV from unprotected vaginal sex is very, very low ... even if the woman you're having intercourse with is infected (Less than 1 in 1,000). Still, you should always use protection.
2. The early symptoms of HIV are also the symptoms for about 30 other inflictions -- including the common cold. However, if you're really worried, you should go get yourself tested just so you can sleep easier at night.

Is this athlete's foot or some other infection?
The skin near the toes and sole of the foot seem tender with a localized, whitish discoloration as if some fluid is building under the skin, socks leave a smelly, yellowish residue near the toe area if they were worn for a long amount of time
Is this athlete's foot or some other infection?
Definitely athlete's foot or some other fungus. It's very common if you wear shoes most of the time, are in humid conditions, don't change your socks every day or if you exercise a lot. The fungus can also be picked up on gym shower floors, which is why shower shoes are always a good idea.
To cure this, you can get some spray Lotramin which you can spray into your shoes every day or two to kill the fungus. Wash your socks with hot water and detergent and change them frequently. You will also need to apply medication directly to your feet once or twice a day until it is completely gone. Usually a cream with 1% Econazole Nitrate works well.
If untreated, athlete's foot can become serious. The skin can crack and bleed, becoming very painful and you can even develop infections.
Let your feet air out as much as possible, buy some sandals or other open shoes for leisure time. You'll be fine...
Reply:fungul infection.
Reply:sounds like a fungal infection. You should go see a doctor before it gets any worse, or spreads.
Reply:Yes, sounds like it. Get an anti-fungal cream for it, and go see your dr!
Reply:DOES IT ITCH? If Yes...then its athletes foot or some fungal infection...you should keep your feet dry at all times. There are anti fungal foot powder available in the drugstores...there are also ointments and creams (Lamisil is one of them) that you could apply to the insides of your toes and leave them there overnight. Avoid using damp socks...use only a pair of thoroughly DRY socks and shoes. That's the only way to make it go away. You may want to see a doctor for a prescription medicine to be taken internally to help you heal faster (Nizoral tab is one of them). Take proper care of yourself.

Makeup Ideas(red hair, blue eyes)?
There's someone I need to impress, and I need makeup ideas! I have pretty vivid(natural) red hair and blue eyes, and VERY pale skin, with light freckles. I also have some fading discoloration left over from acne that I'd like to cover up somehow.. But yeah, anything you think would look nice is hugely appreciated!
I have limited time, though, so I can't buy any specific products. Give a girl a hand! :)
Makeup Ideas(red hair, blue eyes)?
You sound super pretty! My advice is you probably can't pull off alot of pink i would try maybe colours like a soft gold or darker smokey eyes which is really in right now then for lipstick and blush etc. i would use a light soft colour for both just so it's not to overpowering than make your feature your eyes than i wouldn't wear alot over cover up or concealer it's super noticeable if you have freckles and why would you wanna cover them up anyways?
Reply:You have the what I'd like to call "to-die-for" features!~
I'd say that whoever it is, they wouldn't want you looking cakey.
So either go for a smokey or natural look. Don't try vibrant colors, which don't sound very formal for your case, anyhow.
Why don't you go for glowy natural look?
Use a rosy-colored blush, which should go well with your skin tone.
And if you are going to use eyeshadow, go for a mono-color look. Use a soft taupey brown color with a cream/beige color!
As for the scars, you definitely should use concealer.
Just use a sheer mineral veil, for foundation, which is the lightest coverage.
As a finishing touch, use a very neutral color, nude pink gloss.
:) hope that helped you!~
Reply:keep it simple foundation, liquid eyeliner, and some lip gloss
Reply:hey, im the same , pale, bright red curly hair that i cant do anything with and bright blue eyes, i dont even where make up just a little cover up here and there . acualy i stumbled apon this looking for a way to where make up that dosent make me look like im in a mask, i havent found anything yet. As a finishing touch, use a very neutral color, nude pink gloss.
:) hope that helped you!~

Toenail Problem, Need Help!!!?
All of a sudden my toenail on my big toe started to hurt. YEsturday it was a minor pain when I walked and today the whole area feels cold and it really hurts to put pressure on it. It isnt an ingrown toenail or anything. There is no damage to the nail or the skin on the other side of my foot. No discoloration, cracking, or anything visible like that. My toe can only be described as cold and painful. What could this problem be?? Anyone ever have this feeling?
